Our story

The Kings Story

Born in Mumbai's Vasai–Nalasopara belt, Suresh Mukund started his journey as a dancer and became one of India's most celebrated choreographers. In 2008 he founded his first crew, Fictitious Group, and redefined Indian dance — becoming the first to bring flips, tricks and formations into Indian choreography, a style that became the country's signature and benchmark. He led the first Indian crew to represent, and win for, India internationally — and gave a generation something new to believe in: that India, too, could stand among the world's best.

Over the years, Kings has produced 1,500+ professional performers and 10+ crews.

Alongside the crews, he built a home for talent. Over 18 years, the Kings studio and academy have trained 30,000+ students — 12,000+ of them certified — opening the craft to everyone and building a complete ecosystem where a dancer grows from the first step to the biggest stages, and from student to professional.

Over the years, he launched different brands — Fictitious Group, SNV Crew, First Look Crew, Kings United, The Kings Dance Studio, and more — each with its own name and identity. Eventually, all of these brands united under one banner — The Kings.

The Kings style — the flips, the tricks, the formations, the storytelling — is now the language crews across India dance in. What was once a signature became the standard, and the standard changed how India dances.
